Can’t cope with being disfellowshipped…..Need some advice

this site is great, i have been lurking for a while now.

but i can’t get reinstated and have used some of the advice already given.. i was df’d many months ago and go to all the meetings and do all the preparation for the meetings, but the jc committee keep refusing me.

tomorrow at the clam meeting i am puting yet another letter in and will be called for another dreadful jc meeting.. 1. what can i say to the elders to show that i am truly repentant?.

looking at the board, i see so many long threads on " evoultion vs creation " ect, ect.. therefore if " your" qualifications are only those of " an" uneducated j.w, may i ask one question?.

q) what makes you feel you are now qualified to comment with absolute ,authority on any discussion?.

i ask the above question because for most of us " ex-witnesses " logic is still words written in the pages of an awake" magazine.

I sympathise with your perspective but I think it's a bit unfair to claim that people "care so little about ownership".

Most people wishing to purchase these books I'm sure would be happy to respect any copyright.

A lot of these people are hurt, damaged and desperate, so much so that the price of CoC on Amazon starts from £99.31.... the most expensive is £378.99.

That price indicates two things...

*that people are truely desperate to read these books

*and it shows they are willing to pay for the ability to read these books.

If someone was exploiting the situation for financial gain I could wholeheartedly agree with you. As it stands, no one is benifiting financially out of this... not even the owner sadly.

Latest Metal Detecting Find

now the harvest is underway up north i can get out for a walk with the metal detector in the evening.

i am lucky to live on a historic rural estate and i have permission from the landowner to detect.. this is a coin that popped up last night.

it was only about 2 inches deep and had been tumbling around in the plough soil for the last 750 years.. it is a silver penny of king henry iii.

Lovely find. Beautiful coin. Must have been so exciting to have found one that old.

I once found a George III half penny in a garden of a property built in the 1950s. The person who lived in the property had lived there for over 40 years and was a very keen gardener. So the soil would have been dug over many times. It would also have been overturned quite dramatically with the construction of the property in the 50s. Before the house was built, the area was just open farmland.

In spite of that, I found the coin on the surface as if it had just been dropped there the day before.

The date on the coin is 1779. Having just had a quick look on the internet it seems that the value of the coin at the time would be just over three pounds of today's money.

What I found interesting was to find out that the coin was a forgery... and a very poor one at that.

There were many of these fake coins in circulation at the time, to such an extent that they became a big factor to the economy, along side the royal mint.

It was common in those days for workshop owners to pay the wages of their workers with fake coins. There were many workshops in the town near to where I found the coin so could easily explain how the coin got there.

Not quite as exciting as a Henry III silver penny but I enjoyed finding out about the coin anyway.

But it's interesting to think that the coin you found had been lost for 500 years before the one I found had even been produced.

People hate God?

it is a pain that certain individuals pride themselves on hating god, who created everything.

like it's understandable that you choose to not believe in him because of your selfishness or thinking skills but to hate him is forcing it a bit.

i'm very thankful that those such as myself have the courage to believe in the lord.

Most people either like or dislike fictitious characters. Hollywood films are full of fictitious characters that people love and hate.

The fictitious god of the Bible is just another character that we respond to.

That's not too difficult to grasp is it?

Did the flood happen?

so we were talking about noah for our family worship tonight and it ended with a little debate between me and my parents about how the flood was possible.

you know, where did the water come from, how did all the animals fit, etc.

of course it led nowhere and my parents came up with some strange theories like that there was "an expanse of water in the sky" and that's where all the water came from.

If there was a Noachian flood, the biggest miracle wouldn't have been the flood itself. It would be the fact that God left absolutely no trace that it ever happened.
